A joint venture between AECOM Technology Corp. (Los Angeles, CA) and construction firm Galliford Try Plc (London, U.K.) has received a $24 million contract from Yorkshire Water to upgrade the Woodhouse Mill Wastewater Treatment Works in Woodhouse Mill, West Yorkshire. The joint venture team will provide technical and management services to refurbish pumping stations, an existing inlet screw pumping station, new inlet works, and other facilities, and it will also design several new components for the Woodhouse Mill system. The contract is part of Yorkshire Water’s Fifth Asset Management Plan (AMP5) capital improvement program. One of the aims of the AMP5 program is to ensure that treated water meets the discharge standards of the European Freshwater Fish Directive, which takes effect in 2015.
