WorleyParsons Group, Inc., a unit of global engineering firm WorleyParsons Ltd. (North Sydney, Australia), and STW Resources Holding Corp. (Midland, TX), a provider of water treatment services to the oil and gas industry, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under which the two companies will jointly pursue business opportunities with municipalities and private companies in the energy sector. The two companies are currently analyzing the design of a water treatment system for a municipality that is looking for alternatives to surface water and underground aquifer supplies. “The alignment of our industrial and municipal strengths with the opportunities that exist through STW’s knowledge and resources in the oil and gas sector creates great synergy and a win-win relationship,” said Ken Burris, a senior principal consulting in WorleyParsons’ Houston office and director of the firm’s water and wastewater practice in the United States. STW CEO Stanley Wiener commented, “by partnering with established industry leaders in engineering and manufacturing, our target market base is immediately expanded, and our pipeline of opportunities increases. As a result, STW’s ability to provide project financing and on-site management is expected to create revenue expansion opportunities for both STW and WorleyParsons.”
