Waste Management, Inc. (Houston, TX) has awarded a contract to Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Seal Beach, CA) under which Clean Energy Fuels will provide maintenance and repair services for Waste Management’s compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations throughout the United States. Clean Energy will also provide engineering and construction services, as well as compression equipment through its subsidiary IMW Industries, at selected fueling stations. Waste Management currently has about 1,000 vehicles powered by CNG or liquefied natural gas (LNG) and operates CNG and LNG fueling stations at 17 of its facilities, with more under development. Clean Energy Fuels operates a network of 248 CNG fueling stations of its own and operates a landfill gas facility in Dallas, Texas, that produces fuel for the nation’s gas pipeline network.
